Richard A. (Rick) Smith
Richard A. (Rick) Smith
Mr. Smith has a rich experience base in the telecommunications industry. Prior to being named the CEO/President of SECURUS, Mr. Smith held a series of positions in a wide variety of disciplines at Frontier Corporation including operations, finance, IT, and business development among others. As the CEO of Eschelon Telecom, Inc., he grew revenue from approximately $30 million to some $350 million and grew EBITDA to some $80 million, a CAGR of 48%. His achievements at Eschelon led to a successful IPO in the summer of 2005.
Rick has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Mathematics as well as an MBA.

William D. (Bill) Markert
William D. (Bill) Markert
Bill Markert was named Chief Financial Officer of SECURUS Technologies in June 2008.
Previous to becoming SECURUS' CFO, Mr. Markert held executive level finance positions at Eschelon Telecom, Inc. with his most recent position being Executive Vice President – Network Finance. At Eschelon, Mr. Markert was responsible for revenue and cost accounting/reporting, network cost management, carrier access billing and revenue/margin assurance. Mr. Markert also directed various merger and acquisition projects. Before Eschelon, Mr. Markert spent nine (9) years at Global Crossing and its predecessor companies in various financial, regulatory, and operational management roles.
Mr. Markert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, and an MBA degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Daniel A. (Dan) Crawford
Daniel A. (Dan) Crawford
Mr Crawford has enjoyed a stellar career as a senior manager (including stints as Chairman, CEO and President) with a number of important companies in the public safety and corrections industry. In addition, Mr. Crawford was the founder of EPIC Solutions, Inc., an INC 500 fastest growing company. Mr. Crawford has been named Business Leader of the Month by the national Foundation for Enterprise Development, and One of the Most Influential Technology Leaders by the San Diego Business Journal. Mr. Crawford began his professional career in the military as a Naval Aviator. After leaving active duty, Mr. Crawford remained in the Naval Reserves and retired in 1996 with the rank of captain. He holds an undergraduate degree in business administration, an MBA, and a law degree, and has served on multiple boards of directors.

Dennis J. Reinhold
Dennis J. Reinhold
Dennis J. Reinhold serves as our Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining Securus in August 2005, Mr. Reinhold served as the Associate General Counsel of SOURCECORP, Inc. SOURCECORP is a $420 Million public company (NASDAQ: SRCP) with 7,000 employees worldwide, and specializes in business process outsourcing of critical data and documents. In that role, he was responsible for the worldwide legal function of the Business Process Solutions Division, the Statement Solutions Division, the Legal Claims Division and the Direct Mail Division. Prior to his position at SOURCECORP, Mr. Reinhold served as Division General Counsel/ Director of International Legal Affairs and Assistant Secretary for AAF-McQuay, Inc. Mr. Reinhold has nearly 20 years of legal experience, both in law firms and in-house positions, with an emphasis in practicing in the areas of corporate and international law. Mr. Reinhold has a J.D. from St. Louis University; a B.S. in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Illinois and he completed the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Robert E. (Bob) Pickens
Robert E. (Bob) Pickens
Bob Pickens serves as our Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Pickens has over 18 years of senior level telecommunications experience. Before joining Securus Technologies, Mr. Pickens was Chief Operating Officer of Eschelon Telecom. During his eleven year tenure with that organization, he held leadership positions in Marketing, Operations, and Mergers & Acquisitions Integration management. Mr. Pickens has a BSB degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.

Joshua Conklin
Joshua Conklin
Joshua Conklin serves as our Vice President of Sales, where he has responsibility for all new and existing facility sales for Securus. Prior to Joining Securus, Joshua was Sr. Vice President and General Manager of California and Nevada for Integra Telecom Inc. Integra is a CLEC, and in his role, Joshua had full operational responsibility for Integra Telecom of CA and NV including sales, customer service, network operations, new customer provisioning, and long haul network operations for the bulk of Integra’s network in the western United States. Prior to joining Integra, Joshua served with Eschelon Telecom Inc. as Sr. Director of Network Sales for Colorado, Minnesota, and Utah. In this capacity, Joshua was responsible for new acquisition sales in over 40% of Eschelon Telecom’s network footprint. Joshua also held several other sales roles within Eschelon including Sales Director, Sales Manager, and Sales Training Manager over his 10 year career with Eschelon. Joshua holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from West Texas A&M University.

Danny de Hoyos currently serves as Vice President of Service and Technical Operations. Prior to joining Securus Technologies, Mr. de Hoyos served as Director of Customer Operations for Medica located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From 2001 through the end of 2007 Mr. de Hoyos was employed by Eschelon Telecom and served as Vice President of Customer Service and Service Delivery. Prior to joining Eschelon, Mr. de Hoyos was Director of Support Services for One World Online in Provo, Utah. Mr. de Hoyos has also held Customer Operations and Call Center Management leadership roles for other technology companies such as Big Planet and Marketing Ally. Mr. de Hoyos has a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University.

Arlin B. Goldberg
Arlin Goldberg joined Securus Technologies as CIO in August of 2008. Mr. Goldberg has over 30 years of telecommunication industry experience. Previously, Mr. Goldberg was the Executive Vice President of Information Technology for Eschelon Telecom. Prior to that, Mr. Goldberg served as Director of Information Services at Frontier Corporation, and also as Director of Information Services for Enhanced TeleManagement, Inc. Early in his career, Mr. Goldberg served in a variety of roles at Norstan Communications Systems, Inc.
Mr. Goldberg received his BSB in Accounting from the University of Minnesota.

Pat Brolsma joined Securus Technologies as the Director of our Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and Corporate Development group in November of 2008. Mr. Brolsma has over 15 years of senior level telecommunications experience. Prior to joining Securus, Mr. Brolsma spent eight years with Eschelon Telecom where he held leadership positions in Operations, Marketing, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Before Eschelon Mr. Brolsma held various management positions at US West (Qwest), Sprint Communications and Unisys. Mr. Brolsma has a BS degree in Computer Science and Marketing from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota.

Kate Lengyel
Kate Lengyel
Kate Lengyel serves as our Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Securus in July, 2007, Ms. Lengyel held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Excel Telecommunications where she was an integral part of the company’s acquisition of Vartec Telecom. Ms. Lengyel acted in a leadership capacity at Stone Holdings, Inc. where she was the Director of Human Resources for over 12 years. She has created a successful track record of employee initiatives, leadership and organizational change management. Ms. Lengyel has diverse Human Resources experience in start-ups, growth and M&A situations. Ms. Lengyel holds both a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and a Masters of Education in Human Resource Development from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
