Automated Information Services 2.0  
Correctional facilities are all faced with budget restraints that require them to place their manpower where they need it most, in security and enforcement areas. Because of this, many callers are required to wait in queue for extended periods of time.

Understanding this limitation, Securus has partnered with an automated voice recognition provider to provide an automated system to handle friends and family and inmate questions.

At the partnering facilities where our Automated Information Services has been installed, the system has handled over 90% of all inmate queries and over 80% of all friends and family incoming calls.

Friends and family members have also experienced a 200% increase in ”answered” calls (people who would have traditionally hung up because of long waits.)

The system has also increased facility security and staff morale by allowing participating facilities to re-allocate staff from the mundane task of answering phones to "high priority" positions.
